Crowdsourced, interactive database cinema
Grant from the Spelman College Innovation Lab
Supporting A New Way Of Storytelling.
APERTURE is a multidisciplinary, proof-of-concept, crowd-sourced, database cinema production that uses digital technologies to continue the conversation around expanding cinema. It is centered in new forms of storytelling where algorithmically short films are built from original assets created by twenty-five Black women from various backgrounds and ages including transwomen. The project uses technology to support a new way of thinking about the idea of cinema and cinematic practices.
